Red My Lip Art Exhibit

Every April for SAAM (sexual assault awareness month) we like to have an event focusing on those in our community who have been abused.
In 2023 we had an art exhibit with survivors’ art pieces that reflect their experiences. The theme of our art exhibit correlates with the international non-profit, Red My Lips.

“Red My Lips is designed to raise visibility and awareness about the realities and prevalence of sexual violence while combating rape myths and victim-blaming. They run an annual global awareness and action campaign where fierce and fearless supporters rock red lipstick all throughout the month of April to demonstrate solidarity and support for survivors and start important conversations with people in their lives.”

That is precisely why we want to bring survivors together along with their artistic representations.

We feel that this is a very important, necessary, and way overdue topic that needs to be addressed more.

If you are an artist that would like to submit a piece or a reporting entity that would like to showcase this very important social issue, please email us at unchainedvalkyries@gmail.com
